\n\nPresident Donald Trump’s approval rating dropped to the lowest level of his second term in the White House.
\n\nIn a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, only 33% of Americans in the survey admitted that they approved of Trump's performance in the White House, while 64% disapproved.
\n\nThe poll noted that Trump's low approval rating has now tied the lowest level of his prior term reached in December 2017.
\n\nTrump’s approval took a hit after he ordered military strikes on Iran along with Israel earlier this year. The ongoing conflict has resulted in surging gas prices in the U.S. and rattled global oil prices.
\n\nReuters conducted a poll of 1,166 Americans between Aug. 14 and Aug. 17.
\n\nThe poll shows that roughly 80% of Americans, including 87% of Democrats and 71% of Republicans, believe the United States involvement in Iran "will go on for an extended period of time," compared to 16% who think the ongoing war would likely "end in a few weeks."
