Toyota issued a recall for 508,354 vehicles over an instrument panel problem that may raise the risk of a crash or injury.

In a recall notice, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the "instrument cluster display could fail during startup, "deactivating the hazard lights, turn signals, seat belt warning system, and smart key reminder."

\n\n

The affected Toyota vehicles also don’t meet federal safety standards, NHTSA officials added.

\n\n

The recall affects certain 2025-2026 Camry Hybrid vehicles with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration officials noting that the affected vehicles also don’t meet federal safety standards.

\n\n

Owners of the impacted Toyota vehicles can take them to their local dealership where technicians will update the display software for free.

\n\n

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration officials said owner notification letters will be mailed September 21. Consumers with questions about the recall can call Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
