\n\nFAIRMONT, W.Va. – A woman was arrested after a 6-year-old child with autism jumped out an apartment window and tested positive for cocaine in Fairmont, West Virginia.Authorities charged Stevie Thibodeaux with child neglect creating risk of serious injury or death, WDTV-5 in West Virginia reported, citing the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
\n\nCourt documents obtained by WDTV stated that the child was taken to an area hospital and tested positive for cocaine while being evaluated.
\n\nOn Aug. 10, police responded to an apartment complex after receiving a report that a 6-year-old child jumped out of a second-story window, which had a screen missing.
\n\nStevie Thibodeaux told officers she was asleep when the incident happened and showed police childproof locks on the doors, which she said kept the child from leaving, WDTV reported, citing court documents.
\n\nOfficers performed a search of Thibodeaux’s apartment and found a white plate with a food stamp card, a device used to ingest drugs and a white powder.
\n\nAuthorities told WDTV that Thibodeaux admitted to using cocaine and leaving the plate in her closet.
