The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) officially start car recalls after receiving complaints from consumers.
\n\nWASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced the recall of more than 1,600 pounds of ready-to-eat pickled goat and chicken products made by an Austin, Texas, company, as they were produced without the benefit of inspection.
\n\nIndus Foods, doing business as Gangothri Foods, produced the affected products between Jan. 28, 2025, and May 6, 2026.
\n\nThe approximately 1,626 pounds of recalled products were sold in 8-ounce glass jars and include:
\n\nThe products do not bear a USDA mark of inspection, according to FSIS.
\n\nThe products have a two-year shelf life and were distributed nationwide to restaurants, retail locations and distributors, as well as sold directly to consumers online.
\n\nFSIS identified this as an active Class I recall, its highest health-risk classification. However, there have been no confirmed reports of illness associated with consumption of the recalled products.
\n\nThe issue was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities.
\n\nThe agency is concerned that some of the products may still be in consumers’ homes or on restaurant and distributor shelves.
