\n\nAdm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), visited sailors and Marines aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln over the weekend. The visit to the aircraft carrier comes after reports that the 5,000 U.S. Navy sailors and Marines on board are experiencing poor conditions leading to mental health issues.
\n\nCENTCOM says Adm. Cooper addressed the entire Lincoln team and thanked them for their tremendous dedication and courage. He also met with junior service members and presented awards.
\n\nAdm. Cooper released a statement about his visit:
\n\n"My time aboard USS Abraham Lincoln yesterday was awe-inspiring. I wish every American could see the crew in action. You would beam with absolute pride when witnessing their camaraderie, teamwork and resilience.
\n\nHere’s an important fact: Of the U.S. Navy’s 11 active aircraft carriers, the Lincoln currently has among the lowest number of cases related to mental health.This doesn’t mean that all is perfect.
