\n\nStellantis has recalled nearly one million cars, trucks, minivans, and SUVs across all four of its American brands because of an issue affecting the rearview cameras.
\n\nThe automaker explained the recall stems from an issue with the radio software that blocks the rearview camera from appearing on the media screen.
\n\nThe problem affects 848,511 vehicles in the United States, as well as more than 100,000 in other countries, with the vast majority of those being sold in Canada.
\n\nThe vehicles included in the recall are:
\n\nFor now, Stellantis advises people to use their mirrors and be aware of their surroundings if the camera’s rear view does not appear on the screen.
\n\nThe company expects to be able to remedy the issue through an over-the-air update, which will mean that owners will not need to bring their vehicles to the dealership for the fix. Drivers are advised to be on the lookout for a prompt that an update is available.
